What is it?

The NSGP is a FEMA grant that helps nonprofits and houses of worship protect against terrorist attacks and other extremist threats. Cybersecurity expenses are explicitly allowed.

Are You Eligible?

  • You must be a 501(c)(3) organization (or faith-based equivalent)
  • You must demonstrate that your organization is at high risk of attack
  • Includes houses of worship, schools, community centers, and social service organizations

🚨 CRITICAL: How to Apply

You CANNOT apply directly to FEMA. All applications must go through your state's State Administrative Agency (SAA).

Each state has its own SAA that manages the application process, sets deadlines, and reviews submissions. You must contact your state's SAA to get the application forms and instructions.

What Can You Use NSGP Funds For?

Allowable cybersecurity expenses include:

Important Deadlines

The NSGP is an annual program. Application periods typically open in late winter/early springand deadlines are usually in late spring. However, exact dates vary by state. Contact your SAA early to avoid missing the deadline.
